Hold on to your youthful spirit Let it spin you around Thirty dollar scratch offs A fortune buried up in the clouds Treat it like a sculpture Carve until your arm goes dead Think of all those songs Loose change, rattlin round in your head An ordinary life ain’t going nowhere fast You’ll have a whole lot of time to make a little bit of cash I don’t know how long I’ll last Watching it all move past me I’ve been watching it all move past me Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Chords x1 Another nine to five you’re waiting for the weekend to come Probably tie one on, probably won’t take much to get loosened up You could move to West Virginia, start a band, your own little sound Buy a little house, bet the 6 of you could cover the down Are you down? An ordinary life ain’t going nowhere fast You’ll have a whole lot of time to make a little bit of cash I don’t know how long I’ll last Watching it all move past me I’ve been watching it all move past me Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Inst - chords x2 I’ve got emails and work and I’ve got dogs on the leash I’ve got appointments and bills for shit I probably don’t need By the time I wake up, I’m cut off at the knees and I’m Watching it all move past me Watching it all move past me

On Your Side 04:01
When the walls close in on a moment I’ll be right here, I got no place to be When the love of your life got you hopeless Come down and have a seat, I could use the company It’s times like these we learn to find our way home But til you get there I just need you to know I’m on your side Like your worries are mine We can talk it out or sit in silence I’m on your side Chords x 2 C-G quick change When hard luck’s all that you’re findin You close your eyes but you can’t block out the noise When you got no one to confide in I’m just a call away and I’d love to hear your voice It’s times like these we learn to find our way home But til you get there I just need you to know I’m on your side Like your worries are mine We can talk it out or sit in silence I’m on your side Inst I’m on your side Like your worries are mine We can talk it out or sit in silence I’m on your side I’m on your side Like your worries are mine We can talk it out or sit in silence I’m on your side

Blame You 04:42
I try to settle the stomach Type the future in vain I don’t do this that often Started out as a game Running out of blank pages Running low on fresh starts Everything’s tasting bitter Every morning’s been hard Can’t I just blame you? Ain’t that enough? Hit the lotto tomorrow While you’re calling my bluff I know what it looks like That’s not what I meant Another confession to heaven, good heavens Never again Chords x2 I don’t stumble til midnight I don’t fall til I’m wrecked There’s no problems I’m hiding No trauma close to the vest It’s just part of the process It’s all there in the art I stay squirming below deck I stay fallin apart Can’t I just blame you? Ain’t that enough? Hit the lotto tomorrow While you’re calling my bluff I know what it looks like That’s not what I meant Another confession to heaven, good heavens Never again If it was all such a problem How was I getting shit done? Have I overcorrected? Nothing wrong with having Little bit of fun, can I blame you? Ain’t that enough? Hit the lotto tomorrow While you’re calling my bluff I know what it looks like That’s not what I meant Another confession to heaven, good heavens Never again

about

Trying to round up songs for an album so I’m just going through and bringing tunes across the finish line. I don’t know if any of these will make it onto an album but I don’t hate em. Feels good to finish these up so I can get on to the next batch.

about

Spencer Kilpatrick Big Water, Utah

The Utah-based singer-songwriter has an amazing, even intoxicating handle on pitch-perfect period strut, and a smoky, emotion-damaged croon that accents and accentuates it perfectly. While his voice sounds like a cross-hatching of a bluesy John Mayer and Bill Withers, his solo work, which has dribbled out online in fervent spasms, has called to mind contemporaries like Amos Lee.” - Justin Vellucci ... more
