  The first CD I ever bought was Jay-Z’s The Blueprint at a Circuit City in Roseville, CA. Once or twice a year Circuit City would do a sale where every CD in the store was $10. I think it was a Saturday and my dad took me. I remember the excitement of starting my own music collection and the autonomy that comes with it.
  
  I still have a CD player in my car though and I figure a lot of my friends do too. I’m getting 100 of these printed up for a run of shows I’m doing in July.
  
  It’s not a real album, just a comp of some of the EPs and singles I’ve made with different projects over the last year or so. There’s the Windy Mesa stuff that I cut in Denver with Dani and Alex and a couple of the guys from The Nightsweats. The changes Patrick Meese and Mark Anderson made brought the songs to life.
  
  Then there’s the songs Evan Bailey and I wrote based on some of my poems. Evan’s dedication to his craft inspires me to be a more thoughtful musician. Check out Oh Lonesome Ana if you haven’t already.
  
  Then the last couple tunes are where I feel most at home. The Wake and Jezebel were recorded here in my living room in Big Water w/ my sister on drums and Dani on bass. They feel like Failure Machine songs in their simplicity and energy.
